Frequently Asked Questions

A: It's simple. Go to www.TakeoutPros.com or call us at 252-762-3289 and place your order. We also have an app for your mobile devices! We will then place your order with the restaurant and dispatch our drivers. The drivers will pick up the order and deliver it to you. The drivers will collect payment which involves getting a CC signature on the drivers mobile device for Credit Card Payments.

A: We strongly recommend tipping your delivery driver if they have provided good service. Drivers are just like waiters in a restaurant; they work for tips. Our drivers are not paid an hourly wage; their only compensation is the delivery fee for each order they deliver. Drivers must maintain their own vehicles and pay for their own fuel. If you have received poor service, please don't take it out on your driver. Please call the office so that we can try to make it right. Since the drivers are contracted they can refuse any order. If enough drivers refuse to go to a customer because they do not tip, Takeout Pros reserves the right to place that customer's account in an Auto Tip mode. This means a 18% tip will be assessed and charged automatically on those accounts.

A: Yes! We can take up to 10 different payment types per order.

A: We charge a 5% service fee to cover processing fees. Some restaurants require us to charge up to 25% to cover the costs of this service.

A: Delivery fees start at $2.99. After 4 miles there is a distance fee of $.79 per mile added. Also, for customers that live further than 15 minutes from the restaurant, they will be charged .50 per minute over 15 minutes. Phone orders will be charged an extra $2. If you want to place an order from multiple restaurants, there is an additional delivery fee charge for each additional restaurant.

A: The taxes we charge are just on the food cost and are 7%. This is the sales tax for Pitt County.

A: Please understand that your order is individually prepared by the restaurant after we receive it. We strive for 45 minutes or less on all orders, but oftentimes it may take up to an hour to receive your order. Here is how we think the ideal order should go: In the first 5 minutes after we receive your order, we review it, process your payment and place your order with the restaurant. Making sure the driver and the meal prep time matchup.

It takes 15-25 minutes for the restaurant to cook your food.

It takes us 10-25 minutes to deliver the food.

This means that sometimes we can get your food to you in 30 minutes. If we quote an hour it is because the kitchen is backed-up or its a busy night or traffic is bad. We try to give the most accurate arrival time while also not promising you something that we can't deliver. If the weather is terrible, please allow 10-15 extra minutes everyone else in town is ordering too! We do not offer refunds for orders that take longer than our quoted time. Also, we do not place orders with the restaurant until a driver is available to deliver it. Each quote is unique to the customers location from the restaurant they are ordering from and the number of available drivers at that time.

A: The drivers are asked to make sure they have the right amount of dishes/plates. For food integrity, our drivers are NOT permitted to check your order to make sure the food was prepared properly. This ensures that your food is not handled between the time the restaurant packages it and the time you open it. While this makes mistakes harder to catch, it also helps preserve the quality of your food.

A: We strive to make sure every order is correct, but sometimes mistakes are made. If something is left off your order, we will either go back and pick up the item for you or remove any charge associated with that item from your bill. Call us ASAP so that we can make it right: 252-762-3289 ext.1

A: You are financially responsible for payment once you have submitted your order to us. If you want to change your order, we will attempt to accommodate this within the time constraints and the good will of the participating restaurant. However, if a change is too late to process (i.e. the restaurant has already prepared your food), you are responsible for payment of the original order. If you need to change your order, you must contact our staff via phone. 252-762-3289 ext.1

A: No. You can place as many orders as you want but only one restaurant per order. We do this to ensure each order is as fresh as possible. Also, to make sure each driver is properly compensated for their time.

A: We require that you order $10.00 worth of food before taxes, delivery fees and service fees for most restaurants. Just like with the service fees some restaurants require we have a higher minimum, as high as $20.

A: We are committed to the security of your data and information. We never share any information with anyone outside our company. We will only store it so that you may reuse your same information the next time you order. We also signed you up for our Email list. We promise not to spam, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

A: Just as many dine-in restaurants add an automatic gratuity of 18-20% for parties of 6 or more, we add an auto gratuity to some orders with a food value greater than $75. This is to ensure that the driver is compensated for his/her time. With larger orders, drivers are only able to take one order per hour. Without your gratuity, they would make less.

A: Restaurant prices are subject to change without notice. No restaurant coupons or promotions accepted. Orders cannot be cancelled once placed. Takeout Professionals reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. If you make special requests on your orders the restaurant may charge you for them. We don't give out utensils automatically because of their environmental impact on the planet. But if you request plastic utensils we will gladly try and provide them from the restaurant.
